Canada-based Nigerian doctor blasts President Tinubu over complacency amid Trump’s invasion threat

busterblog - Canada-based Nigerian doctor blasts President Tinubu over complacency amid Trump’s invasion threat

A Canada-based Nigerian medical doctor identified as Dr. Zo has criticized President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, expressing deep disappointment over what he described as the President’s “false sense of support” from political loyalists who constantly cheer his every move.

In a strongly worded statement shared online, Dr. Zo said, “I’m really disappointed that at President Tinubu’s age, he thought all these people always clapping anytime he said something mean well for him. I’m sure the same set of people will be telling him that Donald Trump invading Nigeria with the US army is not that serious. He will be surprised how the US will surprise him.”

The remark follows the November 1, 2025, tweet by former U.S. President Donald Trump, where he threatened to deploy American troops to Nigeria over repeated Islamist attacks on Christians — a statement that has since triggered global debate and diplomatic unease.

Dr. Zo’s comments mirror the growing frustration among Nigerians in the diaspora who accuse the government of dismissing citizen concerns until international pressure mounts. Many have pointed to the administration’s muted response as another sign of detachment from the realities facing millions at home.

While the Presidency has yet to respond directly to Dr. Zo’s viral outburst, his words have gained traction across social media platforms, sparking conversations on leadership accountability, public sycophancy, and the dangers of insulating national leaders from honest criticism.

As tensions between Abuja and Washington simmer, the doctor’s blunt warning has added yet another voice to the chorus demanding Nigeria’s leaders wake up — before the world forces them to.
