🚨 BREAKING: Ex-Arsenal Star Thomas Partey Officially Charged with Rape and Sexual Assault by UK Police

busterblog - 🚨 BREAKING: Ex-Arsenal Star Thomas Partey Officially Charged with Rape and Sexual Assault by UK Police

Former Arsenal and Ghana international midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been officially charged by the Metropolitan Police Service with five counts of rape and one count of sexual assault following a comprehensive investigation into alleged incidents between 2021 and 2022.

In a statement released on Friday, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) confirmed that they had authorized the charges after reviewing evidence submitted by detectives. According to the statement, the offences involve three different women, with allegations including:

Two counts of rape against Woman A

Three counts of rape against Woman B

One count of sexual assault against Woman C

Partey, 32, of Hertfordshire, has been served with a formal charge and requisition notice and is expected to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 5, 2025.

The charges come after more than two years of investigation by the Met’s specialist crime unit, which began receiving complaints in 2022.

The allegations were widely speculated during his time at Arsenal, although he continued to play for the club throughout the period under scrutiny.

Partey’s legal team has strongly denied all allegations. In a brief statement on his behalf, his lawyers said:

“Mr. Partey maintains his innocence and will vigorously contest these charges in court. He has cooperated fully with investigators throughout this long and intrusive process.”

It’s worth noting that Partey officially left Arsenal on June 30, 2025, following the expiration of his contract, and is currently a free agent. The club has yet to release any public comment regarding the charges.

The Crown Prosecution Service, aware of the high public interest in the case, has urged the media and public to refrain from commentary that could prejudice the judicial process.

“We remind everyone that the defendant is entitled to a fair trial,” the CPS noted. “There should be no reporting, commentary or sharing of information online that could jeopardise the integrity of the case.”

Thomas Partey, once hailed for his commanding presence on the pitch and celebrated as a proud son of Ghana, now faces the greatest trial of his life—not on the field, but in a courtroom.

The outcome of the proceedings will not only determine his legal fate but could also define the legacy of a player who once stood at the pinnacle of European football.
